Create States and edit targets
A State set holds alternative options for one configuration. A target identifies the part or material controlled by that set.
Create a State set
Section titled “Create a State set”- Select the relevant model parts when the State type requires targets.
- Select + beside State sets.
- Choose a type, enter a name, and select Create State set.
- Click an option to apply it in the authoring preview.
- Edit Option name and values, then select Update option.
- Select Use on load for the initial choice.
- Set Show in Viewer to control whether the set appears in playback controls.
| Type | New authoring scope |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Show/hide one or more target parts. |
| Transform | Move/rotate one target part. |
| Camera | Capture a view relative to the model. |
| Material | Assign a finish to mesh targets. |
| Animation | Configure embedded clip playback. |
| Group | Combine existing options into a preset. |
Imported Shader and Light sets can be retained, played, named, reordered, duplicated, and linked from Groups. Their specialized properties and bindings need desktop Create. Unknown State types remain preserved.
Edit targets
Section titled “Edit targets”The inspector lists names and full hierarchy paths. Click a target or Show all to select and frame it. Add parts using Add selected parts or drag them from the hierarchy into Targets. Transform uses Use selected part and accepts one target; Material targets must be mesh parts.
Target changes affect every option in the set and remain drafts until Update option. Removing a target removes it from the set, not the model. Required targets must be replaced before saving. Missing or ambiguous hierarchy paths must be resolved before export.
Use the reorder arrows or Duplicate set/Duplicate to organize choices. Remove Group links before deleting referenced sets or options. Circular Group links are rejected.
